Medicare rebate

Since November 1, 2006 clients who are experiencing psychological distress or
problems and with an appropriate Medicare referral from a GP or Psychiatrist may
be eligible for Medicare rebates for up to 12 sessions per calender year. Medicare
will rebate $78.40 per 50 minute session with a Psychologist. The cost for a session
range from $110 to 130. Clients will only have to pay a small gap of either $31.60
or $51.60. To receive this Medicare rebate you must pay the full fee upfront (cash,
eftpos or credit card) and then take your receipt to you’re nearest Medicare office.
Note clients must be referred under a GP Mental Health Care Plan to qualify for a
